A new day...

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,
   for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
   great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

 New every morning...gifted with a NEW day, EVERY day. 

The New Living Translation says it like this:

The faithful love of the Lord never ends!      His mercies never cease.
 Great is his faithfulness;
      his mercies begin afresh each morning.

 

His mercies begin new each day and I have an opportunity to live today better than yesterday.  To be kinder.  To be wiser.  To be more loving.  To be more gentle.  To be a better mom, a better wife, a better employee...to speak less harshly, to see the good when it is hidden and see the silver lining even when it seems there isn't one.

Lord, thank you for the opportunity to begin anew.  Help me to take this day and live it for you.  To live in a manner that glorifies you, is respectful of myself and others and is a witness of your love.
