Being quiet...

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear,
slow to speak, slow to wrath;
for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
James 1:19-20

Swift to hear...if I hearing, then I am not TALKING.  To listen I must be quiet.  Deidra reached out to Michelle last week.  When Michelle needed a friend, Deidra was there.  They sat quietly and worked, but Michelle wasn't alone.  Sometimes quiet is good.

I don't know if I can post every day for the remaining 27 days of February or not, but I know that I can continue working on being quiet.  Listening to HIM and what he has to say.  Being quiet by keeping my tongue still when I want to lash out at those I believe are wrong.  Being quiet when things aren't going my way...yes, I can be selfish like that.

But HE knows best, so I am going to trust HIM and continue trying to be quiet.

And I will continue seeking out the community of bloggers that encourage me and remind me that I am OK.  That HE is in charge.  That this moment in time is mine for the taking and I need to let HIM lead the way.

Hi. This is my first visit here, and we share an interest in being quiet and in listening. For 2012 I chose a word, "listen". Nice to meet you.

What a beautiful challenge and reminder to listen first. I confess, all too often I speak instead of listen. Maybe I should join this challenge with you. :)

Powerful scripture--my husband has been wanting me to calligraph that for him for years--don't know why I've never done it--

Yes, I need to be quiet and listen also--thanks so much for timely message.

I love the quiet...I guess I craved it when I had so many kids running around the house...but now I crave if for the gentleness it brings to me.

I don't know if I can write every one of the days this month either, but I am so glad you are joining me on this quiet journey, Mary!

The quiet is the best place to listen. I love it.

I LOVE that verse, it's one that my family has recently memorized and it's great for the kids to know! :) I'm always reminding myself to listen, really listen.
